Dear Partners,

Happy New Year 2024! Light for the World is introducing a refined approach to sharing information with our valued partners. Our new initiative, "Partnership Insights" aims to provide you with a curated selection of valuable resources, including publications from Light for the World and other key actors, along with training and funding opportunities. Embracing the spirit of peer-exchange and learning, this newsletter also serves as a platform for sharing updates and highlights among partners. We welcome your input, so if there's specific information you'd like to see in our upcoming editions, please let us know!

The inspiration for this newsletter emerged during our recent outcome evaluation in North-East India and Bolivia. Conducted as part of our phase-out process after two decades of programme implementation in these countries, we discovered that our partners highly valued the contextualised information we used to share with and among them. Through this newsletter, we aim to maintain this valuable connection with our partners, fostering communication even beyond programme collaboration.

In this edition you will find:

  • Good reads, such as reports on climate action and inclusive education,

  • Events and initiatives to pencil into your agendas,

  • Training opportunities on inclusive education or system change,

  • Ideas on how to advance your resource mobilisation skills and where to search for funding opportunities,

  • And more online news to follow.

To ensure you receive future editions of "Partnership Insights," please sign up here for English, French, or Portuguese versions.

Wishing you enjoyable and insightful reading,

Ursula

The time for environmentally sustainable practices in the eye health sector is now!

The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) declared a climate emergency in 2021 and is taking active steps to encourage the eye health sector to address climate change and promote environmental sustainability. Check out the call to action and practical guide to minimise the environmental impact of eye health services.
